Psalm 79:9

9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name! Deliver us, forgive us, and purge away our sins for Your name's sake.

In this verse, the writer equates "salvation" with "deliverance". It means that God forgives us...helps us, and purges away our sins...not because of anything that we have done...but for his "name's sake" alone. Praise be to the LORD!
