30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

What does the Bible say about Godly Women?
This verse instructs both men and women that a woman's "...charm is deceptive..." and "...beauty is fleeting", "...but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised". This verse is not saying that charm and beauty are not nice things for a woman to have. What it is saying is that these characteristics are "OK" to have...but much more praiseworthy...is a woman who "...fears the LORD...". In this, and many other verses in the Bible...the word "fears" means a respect or reverence for the LORD.
