VERSE:
Joshua 1:7-8
7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
LESSON:
In this verse, we are told that in following the teachings of the Bible "...do not turn from it to the right or to the left...". What is this verse saying? It is saying that we should "just do it". Do what the Bible says. Do not alter it one way or another from what specifically has been written. (Do it God's way...not our way). What might this mean for you to follow the Bible so strictly? This verse tells us that if we carefully obey Gods word "you may be successful wherever you go" and that "...then you will be prosperous and successful". In others words...following God's word...will be good for you.
