Good things come in small packages!

VERSE:

Matthew 2:4-6

4 When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. 5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:

6 “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.

LESSON:

Good things come in small packages!

Have you ever heard the saying "good things come in small packages"? Sometimes in life, you will find that this is true. Sometimes it is not the biggest running back that scores the winning touchdown. Sometimes it is not the person with the biggest personality that impresses us the most. Sometimes, it is not the biggest town that does something that is most impressive. In this New Testament verse, we are told that the city of Jesus' birth was predicted all the way back in Old Testament times...but no...it was not to be in the "Big City" of Jerusalem. Jesus was sent into the world to be born in one of the smallest towns in the region...Bethlehem. You see, with God, it does not take someplace Big, to make something that becomes larger than life. God can do very much...with very little. Just imagine what God can do in and through your life...if you only give him a little more of yourself each day.
