VERSE:
Isaiah 11:1-3
1 Out of the stump of David’s family will grow a shoot— yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root. 2 And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
LESSON:
In this another Old Testament verse from Isaiah that foretells of the coming of Jesus. At the time of this verse being written, the Israel was no longer the strong country that it had been under Kind David or King Solomon. This verse gave the Jews the hope of better times and a powerful and Godly leader sometime in the future. Jesus was the fulfillment of this prediction. The "Spirit of the Lord does rest upon him, and he is full of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might and knowledge...and "...the fear of the Lord! (utmost respect for God)
