18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

What is the significance of Jesus dying on the cross?
This verse tells us that it depends upon your point of view. For those who are not Christians, and refuse to even consider the truth recorded in the New Testament about Jesus' death and raising from the death..."...the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing...". But to Christians it boldly claims "...but to us who are being saved it is the power of God...". The triumph of Jesus over the cross and the tomb...demonstrates the true "...power of God...".
