VERSE:
Proverbs 22:7
7 The poor are ruled by the rich, and those who borrow are slaves of moneylenders.
LESSON:
This verse is not condemning the rich, nor the poor. It is simply stating a fact. If you borrow money...you may make someone else rich, and by doing so, you also allow them to have power/control over a part of your life (what you do with a majority of your pay-check each month). If you have ever heard of "Payday Lenders" or "Car Title Loans" you will better understand the truth of what this verse means by saying "...those who borrow are slaves of moneylenders...". This is not a new problem. It is as old as the Old Testament of the Bible. Before you borrow...think about this Bible verse and lesson.
