Are there "rewards" in life for following God's ways?
VERSE:
Job 23:10-11 (New International Version)
10 But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
11 My feet have closely followed his steps;
I have kept to his way without turning aside.
LESSON:
This verse tells us that when we follow God's ways in life...it "refines us". When we are tested in "life's flames", we go through an experience just like the "refining of Gold". We become better and more beautiful than the original "elements" that we started life with. It also says that God watches over us when it says "...But he knows the way that I take..." God is with us even in the tough times in life. It encourages us to insure that we have "...followed his steps...", and that we can say in life that "...I have kept to his way without turning aside". (In other words...we have followed God's ways...in life).
