What qualities must we have to be "Effective" and "Productive" Christians?

VERSE:

2 Peter 1:5-8 (New International Version)

5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

LESSON:

What qualities must we have to be "Effective" and "Productive" Christians? This verse lists them as being "faith", "goodness", "knowledge", "self-control", "perseverance", "godliness", "brotherly kindness", "love". Wow. I wish I could automatically say that I had each of these qualities in the measure that this verse says we should have them. For the next few lessons, let us think about one of them each day individually. For today...let us just think about how God calls us to be "all that we can be". This is part of our "Purpose" in life. To strive each day...to be as God created us to be!
