Are there any consequences for failing to confess our sins?

VERSE:

2 Corinthians 5:10 (New International Version)

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

LESSON:

Are there any consequences for failing to confess our sins? This verse is one to help us to think about that topic. If we confess our sins, and are then forgiven...there should be no worry about what will happen when we "meet our maker". This verse plainly reminds us that each of us will someday "...appear before the judgment seat of Christ...". The part of this verse that should concern us most is the section of this verse that says "...that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad...". This verse reminds us that confession is good...and is necessary. More tomorrow about how this relates to Grace.
