VERSE:
Genesis 6:5-6 (New International Version)
5 The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6 The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.
LESSON:
Have we ever caused God pain and sorrow? Before I try to answer that question...look carefully at what Chapter and verse I am quoting from today. In my Bible, that Chapter/Verse appears on page 18 out of 2,335 pages in my Bible. The answer is "Yes"...mankind has hurt God through each of our sins...from the very beginning. Even from the beginning of time...we (mankind) have sinned and our sin has caused God sorrow and grief. As a loving parent would feel for a child, God hurts when he sees that we are hurting ourselves through sin. Know that God wants only good for us...and therefore strive to avoid sin in our lives.
